About:

A leading heavy process manufacturing company is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter / Technician to join its engineering team at a large industrial production site near Maidstone, Kent. and career prospects.

Working as part of the maintenance team, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and continuous improvement activities across a range of heavy industrial plant and equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Mechanical maintenance of process machinery and site services
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Fault finding and breakdown response
• Repair and overhaul of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
• Supporting shutdown and project work
• Using SAP CMMS to record maintenance activities
• Identifying reliability improvements and engineering solutions
• Ensuring compliance with site health, safety and environmental standards

Requirements:

• Mechanical Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent)
• 5 x GCSE's (or equivalent) to include level C or above in Maths and English
• Experience in a manufacturing, process, production, recycling, paper, steel, chemical, cement, power generation or other heavy industrial environment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating equipment
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures
