Paraplanner – Independent Financial Adviser (IFA)

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (DOE)
Hours: Full time
A well established Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) practice near Dover is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Paraplanner looking to develop their technical knowledge across pensions, investments, protection, mortgages, tax planning and estate planning.
- The successful candidate will provide high quality technical support to the financial advisers, including research, report writing, cashflow modelling and client case preparation. This role suits someone with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and experience working within an IFA environment. You will have a Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (CII)
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing for client meetings, taking notes and completing follow up actions
- Collating fact find information and maintaining accurate client records
- Conducting research using FE Analytics, Defaqto, MI Cap and Iress
- Updating internal systems, registers and compliance records
- Liaising with clients, product providers, mortgage lenders, accountants and solicitors
- Preparing and submitting applications
- Providing ongoing support to advisers and updating them on case progress
- Completing technical research, including contacting ceding scheme administrators
- Producing Suitability Reports
- Creating and updating cashflow models using Voyant Advisor Go
- Running complex calculations including pension contributions, carry forward, CGT and IHT
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience as a Paraplanner within an Independent Financial Advice (IFA) firm
- Strong suitability report writing skills
- Confident using FE Analytics, Defaqto, MI Cap, Iress and Voyant
- Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (CII)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Confident IT user (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Professional, friendly and reliable approach
