GR Employment Ltd is recruiting for a Courier Driver on behalf of one of our customers in Newcastle, in the Team Valley Trading Estate area.

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily delivery and collection of shipments to and from customers. This role is essential in upholding the company's values and ethos, delivering service with speed, passion, and a can-do attitude.

You will be measured on customer satisfaction and the successful completion of time-definite deliveries and collections. As a frontline representative of the company, you are expected to carry out all tasks with a strong customer-focused approach.

You must demonstrate excellent planning and organisational skills to effectively prioritise tasks and meet customer expectations. While you will be assigned a specific geographical route, flexibility is essential, as you may occasionally be required to cover alternative routes to support business needs.

Shift pattern

• Monday to Friday: 09:30 to 19:00 (45 hours per week, 30 minutes unpaid break)
• Hourly rate: £14.73 per hour
• Shift premium: extra £2.80 per hour after 7:00pm
• Saturday premium: extra £1.22 per hour
• Sunday premium: extra £2.27 per hour

What you'll need

• Full UK driving licence
• Some experience is preferred, but training will be provided
• Security training will be given when required
• For insurance purposes, you must be at least 21 years old and have no more than 9 penalty points on your driving licence within the last 3 years

Security checks

As this role is based within a major UK airport, all applicants will be required to complete pre-employment screening in accordance with aviation security regulations, including a 5-year history check (or equivalent documentation) and a UK criminal record check.
