Do you have proven experience working as a Business Analyst within Identity and Access Management?

Are you confident running stakeholder workshops, gathering requirements and mapping complex identity processes?

Have you supported IAM transformation projects across JML, RBAC, Identity Governance or Privileged Access Management?

If so, this could be an excellent opportunity to join a growing Microsoft-focused technology consultancy.

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced IAM Business Analyst to support the delivery of strategic identity and access management projects.

This is a business analysis-led role, acting as the link between clients, operational stakeholders, IAM architects, engineers and project delivery teams.

You will be responsible for understanding how identity and access processes currently operate, identifying gaps and inefficiencies, and ensuring business requirements are clearly captured and translated into practical technical solutions.

The role will initially be offered as a six-month fixed-term contract, with strong potential to become permanent as the business continues to grow, although this cannot be guaranteed.

What You Will Be Doing

You will support IAM projects throughout the delivery lifecycle, from discovery and requirements gathering through to solution design, implementation and handover.

Your responsibilities will include:

Facilitating workshops with business, operational and technical stakeholders

Gathering, documenting and managing functional and non-functional requirements

Reviewing current Joiner, Mover and Leaver processes

Capturing as-is provisioning and deprovisioning processes

Developing future-state process maps, user journeys and use cases

Identifying manual processes, control gaps and opportunities for automation

Acting as the main link between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams

Facilitating solution-design and process-review sessions

Working closely with IAM architects, engineers, project managers and BAU teams

Ensuring requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions

Supporting JML automation and identity-lifecycle improvements

Supporting the design and implementation of RBAC and access-control models

Contributing to Identity Governance and Administration initiatives

Supporting Privileged Access Management and User Access Review projects

Producing business requirements documents, functional specifications and process flows

Supporting backlog management, testing, implementation and handover

Managing actions, decisions, risks and project documentation

Presenting findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders

What We Are Looking For

This role requires someone who has already worked as a Business Analyst within an IAM programme or identity transformation environment.

You should be able to demonstrate:

Proven IAM Business Analyst experience

Strong experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements

Confidence facilitating workshops and discovery sessions

Strong process-mapping and documentation skills

Experience producing business requirements documents and functional specifications

The ability to translate business requirements into clear technical outcomes

Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills

Experience working with architects, engineers, project managers and operational teams

The ability to understand complex identity processes and explain them clearly

Experience supporting projects through design, delivery, testing and implementation

Confidence working independently in a remote consultancy environment

IAM Knowledge

You should have a strong understanding of core Identity and Access Management principles, including several of the following:

Joiner, Mover and Leaver processes

Identity lifecycle management

Role-Based Access Control

Identity Governance and Administration

Privileged Access Management

Single Sign-On

Multi-Factor Authentication

User Access Reviews

Access provisioning and deprovisioning

Least privilege

Access-request and approval workflows

Active Directory

Microsoft Entra ID or Azure Active Directory

Hybrid identity

Microsoft 365 access and security controls

Experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart or Azure DevOps would also be useful.

The Person

This is a client-facing consultancy role, so your communication skills and approach will be just as important as your IAM knowledge.

You are likely to be someone who:

Is naturally analytical and detail-focused

Is comfortable asking detailed and challenging questions

Can lead structured discussions with senior stakeholders

Enjoys turning complex processes into clear requirements and documentation

Can build trust with both technical and non-technical audiences

Takes a collaborative and consultative approach

Is comfortable working through ambiguity

Can manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation

Takes ownership and follows actions through

Understands the importance of security, governance and data protection

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a growing technology consultancy and work on strategic IAM and identity-transformation projects.

You will collaborate with experienced IAM architects, engineers and project professionals, while gaining exposure to a range of client environments and complex identity challenges.

The company offers a collaborative and supportive working environment where people are trusted to take ownership, contribute ideas and help shape how projects are delivered.

Although the role is initially offered as a six-month fixed-term contract, there is strong potential for it to develop into a permanent opportunity as the business continues to grow.
