Cabinet Maker / Bench Joiner – Ashford, Kent

Westin Par is currently recruiting for an experienced Cabinet Maker / Cabinetmaker / Bench Joiner to join an established bespoke furniture manufacturing business in Ashford, Kent.

This is a hands-on workshop position suited to an experienced furniture maker or cabinetmaker who enjoys producing high-quality bespoke furniture and fitted cabinetry rather than working on repetitive production lines.

The business undertakes a varied range of projects, including bespoke kitchens, fitted furniture, wardrobes, dressing rooms, boot rooms and individual pieces of furniture and cabinetry. As a result, the successful Cabinet Maker will have the opportunity to work across different products, materials and projects.

The Role
Working as part of a skilled workshop team, you will be responsible for the manufacture and assembly of bespoke furniture and cabinetry from drawings through to completion.
The role will include:

• Manufacturing bespoke cabinets, furniture and fitted joinery
• Building high-quality kitchens and fitted furniture
• Working from detailed production and technical drawings
• Cutting, assembling and finishing components accurately
• Working with MDF, MFC, veneered boards and solid timber
• Producing accurate work while maintaining good workshop productivity
• Checking dimensions, materials and finished components
• Working independently on individual pieces as well as contributing to larger projects
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop
• Working to agreed production timescales and quality standards
• Using both traditional cabinetmaking techniques and modern manufacturing processes
• Working alongside CNC and other workshop machinery where required

The Person
We are looking for a skilled Cabinet Maker, Cabinetmaker, Bench Joiner or Furniture Maker with a solid background in bespoke furniture or high-quality joinery.
You should be confident working from drawings and able to take a project through the manufacturing process with a good level of independence.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who combines excellent cabinetmaking skills with good commercial awareness. You should care about the quality of the finished product but also understand the importance of working efficiently and meeting production deadlines.

What We're Looking For

• The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous professional experience as a Cabinet Maker, Cabinetmaker, Bench Joiner or Furniture Maker
• At least 3 years' relevant experience
• Strong practical cabinetmaking and furniture manufacturing skills
• The ability to accurately interpret technical and production drawings
• Excellent attention to detail
• A high standard of workmanship
• Good understanding of materials, construction methods and furniture manufacture
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A reliable and positive approach to workshop-based work
• A full driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the location of the workshop
