We are supporting an established business to source an experienced HR leader to help build stronger managers, better teams and a culture where people are encouraged to be Creative Problem Solvers, bring Positive Energy, work as One Team, remain Easy to Work With and always Set the Bar High.
Working closely with the Managing Director, leadership team and HR Manager, you will lead the people agenda across the UK and international operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the business continues to attract, develop and retain exceptional people whilst helping managers build high-performing teams.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone who is commercially minded, can challenge when required, cut through complexity and help drive high standards across the business.
The hours of work are Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00. Travel to UK and overseas offices may be required on occasion.
Key duties and responsibilities of Head of HR
- Act as a trusted adviser to Directors and managers on all people matters.
- Lead and develop the HR function.
- Raise the standard of management across the business.
- Coach and challenge managers to build high-performing teams that consistently deliver excellent results.
- Drive a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
- Sets the standards and supports the managers to ensure that strong performance is recognised and underperformance is dealt with promptly, fairly and consistently.
- Set the standards and support the managers in the performance, development and engagement of their teams.
- Improve recruitment, onboarding and succession planning.
- Build management capability at every level of the organisation.
- Support career development and learning across the business.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and best practice.
- Lead global mobility, visas and international employment requirements.
- Maintain a practical and commercially sensible approach to risk and compliance.
- Work closely with the HR Manager to ensure HR operations, payroll, benefits and administration are delivered efficiently and accurately.
- Improve HR systems, reporting and people data to support better decision making.
Requirements of Head of HR
- Significant experience in a senior HR leadership role.
- Strong employment law and employee relations knowledge.
- Experience coaching managers and improving organisational performance.
- Experience operating within an international business.
- Able to influence senior leaders and challenge constructively.
- Commercial, pragmatic and highly credible.
- Experience and knowledge of international employment and visa requirements desirable
- CIPD Level 7 qualified, or equivalent senior-level experience.
