Electronics Assembly Operator (PCB & Cable Assembly) | Rochester, Kent | Competitive Salary + Overtime + Pension

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electronics Assembly Operator, Electronics Assembler, PCB Assembler, Cable Assembler, SMT Operator or Production Technician looking to join a growing manufacturing business delivering advanced electronic products to customers worldwide.

Working within a skilled production team, you will be responsible for PCB assembly, cable assembly, soldering, crimping and general electronic manufacturing activities, helping to produce high-quality products used in demanding applications.

The Electronics Assembly Operator Role

You will be responsible for the assembly of printed circuit boards and cable assemblies to exacting quality standards within a professional electronics manufacturing environment.

This position combines hands-on assembly skills, attention to detail and a commitment to producing reliable electronic products for global customers.

Responsibilities will include:

Assembling PCB and cable assemblies in accordance with manufacturing instructions and engineering documentation.

Soldering both surface mount (SMT) and through-hole electronic components.

Operating SMT pick-and-place equipment to populate printed circuit boards.

Building cable harnesses and cable assemblies using soldering and crimping techniques.

Following work instructions, technical drawings, photographs and assembly documentation.

Ensuring all completed products meet required quality and workmanship standards.

Following established soldering methods, manufacturing processes and production procedures.

Maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail throughout production activities.

Recording production information and supporting manufacturing documentation where required.

About You

You will have experience working within an electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly or cable assembly environment.

Good soldering skills.

Experience working to quality standards and producing high-quality electronic assemblies.

Ability to read and follow assembly drawings, work instructions and manufacturing documentation.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

A positive and reliable team player with a flexible approach to production activities.

Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous but not essential:

IPC certification, training or awareness of standards.

Experience building cable harnesses and complex cable assemblies.

Previous experience operating SMT pick-and-place machinery.

Experience within defence, aerospace, transportation, industrial electronics or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.

Knowledge of electronic testing, inspection and quality control procedures.
