Westin Par is recruiting for an experienced HGV Vehicle Technician to join a well-
established commercial vehicle workshop based in Dover.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic,
Commercial Vehicle Technician or Commercial Vehicle Engineer looking to join a
modern workshop with excellent facilities, a supportive team and genuine earning
potential exceeding £50,000 per year.

Working within a busy 7-bay workshop, the successful candidate will be responsible for
the servicing, maintenance and repair of a wide range of commercial vehicles, trailers
and light commercial vehicles.

The Role
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to HGVs, trailers and light
commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Use modern diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
• Complete inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
• Prepare vehicles and trailers for MOT testing.
• Assist with vehicle breakdown and recovery support as part of an on-call rota.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Accurately complete job cards and associated documentation.

Requirements
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Strong background working on HGVs, trailers and commercial vehicles.
• HGV Class 1 Licence.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience within vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Good understanding of modern vehicle diagnostics.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Positive, proactive and team-focused attitude.

Desirable
• MOT Tester Licence.
• Previous experience working within a commercial vehicle workshop.
• Experience with MAN, DAF, Scania, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, Iveco or Renault
commercial vehicles.

Package
• Basic salary of £41,400.
• Alternate Saturday mornings paid at time and a half.
• 1 in 4 call-out rota with additional earnings.
• Realistic OTE of £53,000 .

Hours
• Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
• Alternate Saturdays: 07:00 – 13:00 (paid at time and a half)
• Participation in a 1-in-4 call-out rota
