About the Role
This Audiologist / Hearing Aid Dispenser role is based in the Barking area and will involve covering a number of practices. Our client prioritises great patient care and everything needed to create it -- you will be given more time with your patients, the autonomy to manage your diary, and the support and training required to continue to develop and grow.
As an independent, family run business, you will not be restricted to particular hearing aid manufacturers, meaning you can select the hearing aids most appropriate for your patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough hearing assessments to determine the nature and extent of patients' hearing loss
- Provide expert advice and guidance on hearing solutions, including hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other assistive listening devices
- Select, fit, and dispense appropriate hearing aids to patients, ensuring proper functionality and comfort
- Conduct follow-up appointments to fine-tune hearing aids, make necessary adjustments, and address any concerns or issues
- Offer counselling and support to patients and their families to help them adapt to their hearing aids and manage their hearing loss effectively
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessment results, treatment plans, and progress notes
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive hearing care services
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of a master's degree in Hearing Aid Audiology or a related field
- Valid certification as an Audiologist/Hearing Aid Dispenser
- At least 1-5 years of experience in a similar role
- Thorough knowledge of hearing assessment techniques, hearing aid technology, and assistive listening devices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in using audiometric equipment and software for hearing evaluations and programming hearing aids
Equipment & Support
You will be provided with a full range of equipment, including Video Otoscopy, Tympanometry, Speech Testing, REMs, Microsuction and Irrigation equipment, along with ongoing support from a clinical care team and opportunities for further training and development.
