Business Manager - Wealth Management - London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Manager to join a growing Wealth Management business, supporting a Senior Wealth Manager and their team.

This is a varied role combining financial services administration, case management, paraplanning, client servicing, business development and team support. The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive and commercially aware, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Business Submission & Case Management

  • Manage cases through the advice process from submission to completion
  • Resolve administrative issues and address delays
  • Liaise with providers and outsourced paraplanning teams
  • Check suitability letters prior to submission
  • Chase clients for outstanding documentation and confirmation to proceed
  • Manage Final Salary / DB cases and non-transfer proposals

Client Servicing

  • Manage withdrawals, encashments and drawdown cases
  • Respond to client queries where appropriate
  • Arrange and manage annual client review meetings
  • Provide a high level of client service

Paraplanning

  • Support with new business and paraplanning requirements
  • Assist with EIS, VCT, IHT and protection cases
  • Undertake investment transfer analysis using FE Analytics
  • Prepare transfer proposals
  • Run cash-flow models using Voyant
  • Assist with client review documentation

Business Tracking & Development

  • Prepare monthly business and income projections
  • Monitor turnover and business issued
  • Maintain business trackers and reporting
  • Analyse existing client opportunities
  • Support business development and marketing projects
  • Analyse sources of new business and costs

Team Support

  • Train and support new Associates
  • Share best practice across the team
  • Provide support and oversight to other Associates
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Review team efficiency and recommend improvements
  • Work with the Operations Manager to improve outsourced services and technology

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience within Financial Services, Wealth Management or Financial Planning
  • Strong financial services administration and case management experience
  • Experience managing cases from start to finish
  • Good knowledge of pensions, investments, protection, drawdown and encashments
  • Experience with DB / Final Salary processes
  • Working knowledge of paraplanning
  • Strong Excel skills for business tracking and forecasting
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Confident client communication skills
  • Experience supporting, training or mentoring junior colleagues

Desirable

  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning or currently working towards it
  • Previous experience within an SJP Partner Practice
  • Experience using FE Analytics and Voyant
  • Previous paraplanning experience
  • Business development or client-bank analysis experience
  • Process improvement or operational efficiency experience
