We are looking for a self-motivated and proactive individual to join our Home Energy Advice Team. This is not about managing emergencies in a traditional sense - we want you to help residents build long-term stability, warmth, and resilience into their lives.
The new Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) is launching. It is a key initiative designed to support our vulnerable residents through sudden financial shocks and help them build lasting resilience against future hardship.
As our new Crisis and Resilience Officer, you will be the public face of this fund and an ambassador for our work. You will literally be out in the community, conducting home visits and leading our ColdBusters initiative. This is a hands-on role where you will directly install simple but effective energy-saving measures (like smart radiator controls and draft-proofing) to help lower residents' energy bills and improve home comfort.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to join Thanet's wonderful working culture, while developing their professional skills and making a real difference to real lives.
At Thanet District Council, we do things differently. We are committed to 'Providing the housing we need,' 'Protecting the environment,' and 'Creating a thriving place.' By joining us, you will be contributing directly to these corporate priorities. This role offers you the chance to gain unique experience in project management, public service, and community support.
If you want to make an impact and leave a lasting legacy in your local community, we want to hear from you.
Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check as part of their pre-employment checks.
