A leading specialist manufacturer in East Kent is seeking a Design Co ordinator to join their growing technical team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced project environment, enjoys problem solving, and can translate complex design briefs into precise, production ready information.

Working across high end commercial and residential projects, the Design Co ordinator will play a key part in shaping design intent, supporting project delivery, and ensuring drawings and documentation are accurate, timely and aligned with client expectations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Project coordination — Attend internal handovers, interpret design briefs and collaborate with estimating, production and project teams.
  • Site engagement — Join client and architect meetings, carry out site surveys and confirm technical requirements.
  • Sustainability standards — Work with recognised sustainability frameworks (BREEAM, LEED, SKA) to ensure compliance.
  • Design risk management — Spot early design or programme challenges and escalate appropriately.
  • Change control — Record and communicate design changes to commercial teams.
  • Production drawing creation — Produce detailed joinery manufacturing drawings using CAD systems.
  • Manufacturing support — Generate cutting sheets, requisitions and design trackers for internal teams.
  • Documentation — Assist with client approval packs and O&M documentation.
  • Cross team collaboration — Ensure drawings are released to production on time and to specification.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Confident decision making and a proactive mindset.
  • AutoCAD 2D experience with high detail output.
  • Solid IT skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Background in a manufacturing joinery environment (essential).
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor (essential)
  • A relevant technical joinery qualification.
