I have always liked supporting charities, and when I started my own business (11 years ago!) I felt it was a great opportunity to do more.
Anyone who runs their own business will tell you that you will not have any spare time to volunteer and may not have any money to donate in the early days. So, helping a charity or charities becomes a whole lot harder. There had to be another way.
My recruitment business was going well when I started a sideline called The JobsBoard, which allows other recruitment agencies and companies to advertise their job vacancies. The JobsBoard proved to be my answer to supporting charities.
I offered charities free advertising for volunteers and employed jobs on the JobsBoard. For some, it was hard to explain that I was giving them use of a resource for free, but the idea soon settled in.
I am glad to say the JobsBoard has been helping charities and not-for-profit organisations like the British Red Cross, Brogdale Collections, Canterbury Festival, Communigrow, Compaid, Dads Unlimited, Demelza, Heart of Kent Hospice, Kent Coast Volunteering, Kent Music, Kent Wildlife Trust, Pilgrims Hospices, Rochester Cathedral, SeeAbility, Whitstable Maritime and many others.
Using the JobsBoard is easy. I will set up their profile and post the jobs. Applications come directly to the nominated email.
