About the role

Mappin and Webb is centred around VIP rooms, luxury hospitality and digital browsing tools. We are looking for a relaxed, inclusive and experiential in-showroom experience for clients, and are looking for a Host to support our clients throughout their journey, making them feel at home whilst visiting our showrooms.

The Host will support the Sales Consultants and the wider showroom team to ensure all clients receive an exceptional and memorable experience, using excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients from the moment they enter our showrooms to long after they have made their purchase. This is a hands-on role which involves a variety of tasks; the Host will spend a lot of time on the shop floor liaising with clients and colleagues but will also carry out many administrative duties in the back office. They will be a natural at building rapport with clients and going above and beyond to exceed expectations.

The Host will be a constant role model for the Watches of Switzerland Group values, and will ensure they become a way of working for the whole team, giving every client (internal and external) an exceptional experience in our showrooms.

Responsibilities

• Supporting all aspects of hospitality and client experience within the showroom.
• Responding to enquiries over the phone and email.
• Arranging appointments and managing calendars.
• Making and serving beverages for clients in the showroom (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
• Organising and preparing the VIP room; maintaining showroom housekeeping standards.
• Compliance with company policy and procedures.
• Keeping up to date with knowledge of the product and services offered in the showroom; completing all training requirements through e-learning and other sources.
• Assisting in other areas when necessary.
• Ensuring all new systems and data are secure and confidentiality is always maintained.

Essential and desirable experience

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience within hospitality or luxury retail; ability to build rapport and long-lasting relationships with clients.
• A great understanding of what an exceptional client experience looks like.
• A keen eye for detail; experience of working within a high performing team.
• Excellent organisational skills; IT literate.
• Flexible and adaptable to change.
• Confidentiality at the highest level.
• A professional, positive approach at all times.
• Motivated, proactive and dedicated.

Must be fully flexible. This is a temporary position for 9 months, covering maternity leave.
