Optical Assistant Branch Manager - Farnham

Working with an independent, family-owned company who believe their people are the key to their success. My client is a retail opticians and audiology business, founded in 1928 and grown to 35 stores, each special and unique.

They are actively searching for an Assistant Branch Manager to join their team in Farnham. This is a full time position.

As Assistant Manager, you will assist the Branch Manager in upholding professional standards while maximising operational efficiency, deputising for the Branch Manager in their absence. You will help foster a positive and collaborative environment, adapting your leadership to meet the diverse needs of the team while driving continuous improvement in branch performance and communicating the company vision of lead, educate, empathise, delight.

Leadership

• Support the Branch Manager to build highly successful and motivated teams who consistently excel in the achievement of business goals
• Collaborate with the team to achieve common goals and act as a role model to others
• Commit time and effort to developing the capability of others, adapting your style to suit the situation and needs of individuals
• Support the Branch Manager in establishing priorities, actions, milestones and constraints, checking progress and taking corrective action
• Maximise the use of available resources and support other branches as needed to meet business needs
• Work cooperatively and productively with others, openly exchanging information across the organisation
• Ensure that your own and your team's mandatory training is maintained

Clinical Practice

• Provide unrivalled customer care to individual patients and customers
• Dispense to patients and customers, tailoring recommendations to their individual needs, preferences and risk factors
• Support the clinical team to offer a range of clinical services, including routine and emergency eye care, paediatric eye care, image or scan interpretation, monitoring of stable glaucoma or retinal conditions, dry eye management and myopia management
• Provide a range of optical appliances including spectacles, sunglasses, safety eyewear, low vision solutions, and rigid and soft contact lenses
• Offer the benefits of hearing health checks to all customers

Professionalism and Governance

• Adhere to GOC standards of practice and the contractual terms of NHS enhanced services or co-management services with other eye care providers
• Work with the branch team to resolve any issues as they arise
• Maintain infection prevention and control measures and keep the branch clean and tidy
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance, timekeeping, attendance and respect for company property
• Work with both the Hearing and Optical teams to deliver unrivalled customer care
• Operate in line with company policies, procedures and current legislation at all times

Communication

• Support the Branch Manager to deliver presentations, goals and achievements to the wider organisation
• Support the Branch Manager in briefing teams on business goals and expectations, including daily huddles, weekly team meetings, 1-2-1s and area meetings
• Support the business in tracking and monitoring performance, actively developing and promoting strategies to increase branch performance
• Communicate and reinforce the company's vision at branch level

• Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 depending on experience
