About the role

Are you an experienced Dispensing Optician searching for a new and exciting opportunity in management? We are working with an independent, family-owned company who believe their people are the key to their success, and are actively searching for a Branch Manager to join their team in Christchurch.

Job responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations and management of the optical branch
• Ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction
• Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve branch targets
• Manage and train a team of optical staff
• Schedule and coordinate staff shifts and assignments
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels
• Handle customer complaints or concerns in a professional manner
• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and industry regulations
• Generate sales reports and analyse data to identify areas for improvement
• Collaborate with other branches and departments to optimise overall business performance

Requirements

• Qualified Dispensing Optician, fully registered with the GOC
• Previous experience in a Branch Manager or senior optical leadership role
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to drive branch performance and achieve business targets
• Excellent leadership and people management skills
• Confident in building and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Able to plan effectively, set realistic business goals and deliver against agreed objectives
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Organised and proactive, able to manage day-to-day branch operations
