Purchase Ledger Administrator - Kent

At Dedicate Recruitment, we are proud to partner with a reputable Independent School based in South Kent, seeking a dedicated Contract Purchase Ledger Administrator. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a distinguished educational environment, supporting the school's finance operations through effective processing of invoices, reconciliations, and managing purchase orders. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions, fostering smooth communication with suppliers, staff, and internal departments. The position is ideal for someone with experience in Purchase Ledger, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive approach within a busy, dynamic setting.

  • Good knowledge of Purchase Ledger processes and prior experience within a school environment is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proficiency in computerised accounting packages, sound IT skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organisational and numeracy skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and external parties.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade A-C).
  • Flexibility to undertake additional tasks as required and support the finance team during busy periods such as month-end or audit preparations.
