Trusted Recruiter is working on behalf of an established and highly respected organisation within the healthcare and specialist manufacturing sector to recruit an experienced Logistics Team Leader for its Leeds operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, hands-on logistics professional who enjoys taking responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of a busy department while also supporting and developing a small team.

You will oversee a team of three people and work closely with a number of other departments across the business, so this role will suit someone who is not only confident managing logistics processes, but is also a strong communicator and genuine team player.

The Role

Reporting into the Production Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Logistics department, ensuring stock, materials, purchasing, goods receipt and despatch activities are managed accurately and efficiently.

A key part of the role will be ensuring that parts and materials are available when required to support production, while maintaining accurate stock records, managing purchasing activity and helping the department achieve agreed operational KPIs. You will also play an important role in supporting the development of the logistics team, including training, 1-2-1s, attendance and performance management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, support and oversee a small Logistics team of three
  • Manage the receipt, inspection, booking-in, storage and issue of stock and materials
  • Process purchase orders and liaise with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries and pricing
  • Monitor stock levels and complete regular stock checks to maintain accurate inventory records
  • Oversee the timely despatch of finished products and associated documentation
  • Ensure parts and materials are available to meet production requirements
  • Prioritise urgent operational requirements where necessary
  • Monitor Logistics KPIs and support continuous improvement across the department
  • Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment
  • Support staff development, training, 1-2-1s and performance management
  • Work closely with Production, Administration, Clinical and other internal teams
  • Promote strong working practices, quality standards and the reduction of material wastage
  • Ensure compliance with company quality and Health & Safety procedures

About You

We are looking for someone with previous experience within logistics, warehousing, stock control or a manufacturing environment, together with previous supervisory or team leadership experience. You should also have:

  • Experience of stock and inventory management
  • Knowledge of purchasing, goods receipt and despatch processes
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively across different departments
  • A proactive and practical approach to your work
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and respond to changing operational requirements
  • A strong commitment to quality and Health & Safety
  • An interest in developing and supporting other members of the team

Previous experience of SAP Business One would be advantageous but is not essential.

Salary & Benefits

  • £29–£30k basic salary, negotiable depending on experience
  • Private healthcare
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30am–5:00pm
  • Friday: 8:30am–4:00pm
  • Permanent position based in Leeds
  • Supportive and established working environment
  • Opportunities for ongoing training and development

This would suit an experienced Logistics Team Leader, Warehouse Team Leader, Logistics Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisor, Stock Control Supervisor or a strong senior logistics professional looking to take the next step into team leadership.
