Thanet District Council's Tenant and Leaseholder Services is recruiting. We are looking for a motivated professional to join our amazing team.
We are looking for a TA Placement Officer who is organised and committed to delivering great customer service. Thanet District Council is increasing its own temporary accommodation stock portfolio and the council's Tenant and Leaseholder Services has a new team to manage the portfolio. As a relatively new service this is a great opportunity to feed into and help drive forward this exciting new project. We currently own nearly 80 TA properties and this will steadily be rising to 170 within the next couple of years.
We are looking for someone that is motivated, conscientious and compassionate to join this new small team overseeing Thanet District Council's owned temporary accommodation. Experience of working in Homelessness and property management is desired, however, if you can demonstrate drive and enthusiasm to deliver great customer service, are passionate about service improvement and have an eye for detail then we want to hear from you.
You will be responsible for providing support and facilitating placements within our own temporary accommodation, property management, VOID Care and ensuring licensees maintain and sustain their temporary accommodation.
Tasks will include:
Our historic seaside towns of Ramsgate, Margate and Broadstairs and surrounding villages are rich in heritage and opportunity. With 19 miles of stunning coastline, our beautiful Blue Flag beaches, the internationally renowned Turner Contemporary, and the UK's only Royal Harbour are all just a short train ride from central London thanks to the high-speed rail link. Our proximity to the port of Dover and the Eurotunnel at Folkestone mean Europe is literally on our doorstep too.
All of this, combined with a flexible approach to how we work, makes it an exciting time to join Thanet District Council. We have set our sights high. We want our residents to enjoy the highest quality services. We want to ensure that by listening to local people, working in active partnership and doing things in an innovative way, we can accelerate improvement to meet the challenges ahead.
Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check as part of their pre-employment checks.
For an informal discussion please contact Sophie Spratling; sophie.spratling@thanet.gov.uk or 07823 610 464. Closing date: 30th September 2026.
Interviews will be held in the week commencing 12th October 2026.
